2020 Financial Relief Grant
*APPLICATIONS WILL OPEN AUGUST 10TH AT 8AM*
2020 Financial Relief Grant - In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, VFIS of Texas and Texas Mutual Insurance Company are pleased to sponsor a need-based Financial Relief Grant program for volunteer fire departments and nonprofit EMS organizations in Texas. VFIS of Texas and Texas Mutual have come together to donate $200,000 for this grant program. Grants in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded based on financial need and are intended to provide funding assistance to help emergency service organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We understand that many emergency service organizations may be facing critical funding needs and may be unable to conduct traditional fundraising during this unprecedented time. These new grants will not be restricted to a specific use other than to provide much-needed funding to these organizations. Together with Texas Mutual, we’re proud to offer our support with these grants.
How It Works:
Who Is Eligible:

How It Works:
- The grant program will open August 10, 2020 and grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds run out.
- Organizations just need to apply for the grant below (live August 10th) and show financial need.
- Applications will be reviewed, and notice will be sent to those awarded by September 1, 2020.
Who Is Eligible:
- All-volunteer or mostly-volunteer fire departments and nonprofit EMS organizations that serve a population of 100,000 or less and are legally organized in Texas.
